OfficeMax Gears Up for Back-to-School

CLEVELAND -- OfficeMax said this year it is introducing its new MaxPerks for Teachers program, which allows teachers to earn rewards certificates for school supplies. For every $75 spent by a MaxPerks for Teachers member, OfficeMax will provide them a $10 merchandise certificate. Teachers interested

in the program can sign up at any OfficeMax store or on the Internet at OfficeMax.com.

In addition, OfficeMax said it has distributed Teacher Savings and Appreciation Cards to school district administrators across the country to hand out to their faculty. The cards include a coupon entitling the bearer to a one-time discount off all office supplies, furniture and electronics from August 1, 2003 to September 15, 2003. Also included is a CopyMax Discount Card, which teachers can use to receive a discount off all CopyMax print-for-pay orders for the entire school year (August 1, 2003 to Jun. 10, 2004).

In addition to in-store Back-to-School offers, customers can shop OfficeMax.com on the Internet and enter for a chance to win a Hewlett-Packard dream computer system with a desktop computer, an all-in-one machine or other HP products. Visitors to OfficeMax.com can also browse comparison buying charts for popular school electronics which allows shoppers to view product information and prices on various manufacturer and product models to make an informed buying decision. Another feature on OfficeMax.com is the Pendaflex Learning Center. Visitors can register to take free personal and professional courses on the Internet-based learning center. Courses include Advanced Microsoft Word, Practical Desktop Publishing, Art of Networking and The Basics of Personal Financial Planning.
