Rite Aid Hires New SVP, Pharmacy Operations
Keough has 20 years of experience in pharmacy and store operations. Keough replaces Marvin Richardson, Rite Aid's former svp, pharmacy operations.
Keough most recently served as director of pharmacy operations for CVS Corporation, one of the nation's largest drugstore chains with approximately 4,000 stores in 32 states.
Keough was responsible for day-to-day pharmacy operations for the chain, including field operations, pharmacy staffing and recruiting, training, clinical and central pharmacy services, customer service, legal and regulatory compliance and inventory management. From 1997 until 1999, Keough was a regional sales manager for CVS overseeing store and pharmacy operations for over 150 stores in the mid-south.
In his position at Rite Aid, Keough, 37, will be responsible for the day-to-day pharmacy operations for all of Rite Aid's stores with a focus on pharmacy execution and customer service. He will also oversee pharmacy technology initiatives, pharmacy licensing and the acquisition of pharmacy files. He will report to Mark Panzer, senior evp, store operations.

Prior to joining CVS, Keough served in a variety of pharmacy and store operations positions from 1993 until 1997 at Revco, a large drugstore chain based in Twinsburg, OH.
He was a registered pharmacist and store manager; district manager with responsibility for store and pharmacy operations; and in his last position at Revco, a regional director of pharmacy operations, overseeing 433 stores in the south until CVS acquired Revco in 1997.
Between 1990 and 1993 Keough was a district manager, and a registered pharmacist and store manager for Reliable Drug Stores, a regional drugstore chain with over 200 stores, based in Indianapolis, IN.
Keough's appointment is effective immediately. He will be relocating to the Harrisburg area with his wife and three children.
Rite Aid Corporation operates approximately 3,500 stores in 28 states and the District of Columbia.
