PUMA, the German-based athletic shoe company, has opened its newest retail store in New York’s Meatpacking District.
Intended to highlight PUMA's sport-fashion collections, including 96 Hours, nuala, Mihara, Starck and Dassler, the store’s black interior provides a neutral backdrop. Fixturing is inspired by sports and new graphics incorporate the individual logos of each collection.
The store, which will provide a laboratory for the brand, is uniquely tailored to its neighborhood, as is its other store in Soho. "This store is a first in many respects. PUMA is the first to take the sport-fashion concept a step further by creating a multi-branded store environment," said Jochen Zeitz, chairman and CEO of PUMA AG. "The Meatpacking District store will also provide a setting to connect directly with a cutting edge consumer."
