Finally! The Money Leak Slows

With all the bills coming in, it was nice when we were actually relieved of at least one bill.

When you have something unexpected happen (like a flooded basement), it seems like you experience a never-ending money leak. We've been getting all sorts of bills since the beginning of the year, from the cleaning and restoration company (that I am not happy with) to the plumber that installed the sump pump to the electrician that installed the dedicated outlet for the sump pump. We've also had regular maintenance on our water filtration system. With all the bills coming in, it was nice when we were actually relieved of at least one bill.

After dealing with a company that I'm sure is charging me the "insurance" rate even though we don't have flood insurance, it has been a pleasure and relief to have dealings with a business person that actually tries to help you. The business in question is certainly not Alpine, which came in during a time of stress and tried to milk it for all it was worth. No, I'm talking about YouRemodel, a company that offers home improvement supplies.

When it became apparent that we would need a de-humidifier for a long period of time, we did some research and discovered that we could save by simply buying our own. We were worried about the condensation removal, though, so, not really knowing what we needed and what we didn't, but stressing because of the state of our home, we bought a condensation remover from YouRemodel via Amazon. In the confusion, we lost the packing slip, and made some other errors that would normally make the product un-returnable and un-refundable.

However, when we discovered that we didn't need the remover, YouRemodel was very understanding of our situation. And issued a refund. The communication with Greg at YouRemodel was straightforward and fast -- a marked difference from dealing with Alpine, where no one would tell us about costs. There's a reason the feedback for YouRemodel is so positive. Next time I need something for a home improvement project, I know where I'm going.

Disclaimer: I received no compensation for writing this. The only things I got from YouRemodel were great customer service and a refund for the product I bought -- and that happened before this writing.
