Recession pushes industrial building vacancies higher
The recession caught up with the northeastern Ohio industrial real estate market in 1990 as building activity slowed and vacancies in existing buildings in Greater Cleveland increased, according to a just-released survey by the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, a national trade group, of the Cleveland and Akron markets.
The volume of industrial construction in Greater Cleveland last year fell to 1.15 million square feet from 1.53 million square feet the prior year. Almost all building in both years
