Nonresidential construction will continue to be in great demand in 1997 according to a Cahners Economics forecast. Commercial, retail, office, hotel/motel, industrial, institutional and health care construction rate is expected to increase in 1997 along with spending for new nonresidential projects. Nonresidential construction spending is expected to increase 3.1% to $204 billion in 1997.
