Boynton Beach, Fla., Residents Lead Effort to Revive Business Scene.

Aug. 8--BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- When Tammy Deery decided to start her own business, she was determined to create a store as stylish as its name -- the Fancy Flamingo.

So, Deery enlisted an artist friend to paint seascape murals on the walls and furniture. Her stepdad, handy with tools, fashioned a Key West-style tin rooftop above the hula-skirted cash register. Deery then filled the pink-and-seafoam-green store with resort-wear clothes and accessories.
