The pulse of downtown Wenatchce continues to fluctuate with periodic storefront closures, but key economic indicators and experts say the market is still strong.

In recent weeks, downtown businesses The Athlete's Choice, Sarah's Hang Up and Rizzo's Juice Bar & Cafe, have either closed or announced plans to close. Other recent downtown storefront departures include imagine That!, Anjou Bakery and Chile's.

But Kathy Allen, executive director of the Wenatchee Downtown Association, said ground floor vacancy rates (the WDA does not track upper floor vacancy rates
