SUNSHINE STATE GROWTH

Six of the top 10 Large metropolitan areas with the strongest growth in 2004 will be in Florida--Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach. Compiled by Global Insight Inc. for USA Today, the list is based on projected employment and personal income growth. A favorable tax structure for business, relatively inexpensive housing and an influx of investment from domestic and international sources are the primary reasons for this higher-than-average growth.
