CUIRE to hold trenchless engineering, HDD and pipebursting schools.

Three special trenchless technology schools, organized by Michigan State University's Center for Underground Infrastructure Research (CUIRE), will be held in conjunction with UCT.

The schools are focused on the more technical and engineering applications of trenchless construction methods.

They are geared for public officials, engineers, utility company personnel, designers, and contractors who are involved with construction, renewing and managing utilities. The schools are co-sponsored by UCT and Underground Construction magazine.

The first event, the Trenchless Technology Engineering and Inspection School, will be held Sunday and Monday, Jan. 22-23, just prior to UCT, at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel, Atlanta, GA. The school will include two program tracks: New Construction and Pipeline Renewal.

The HDD and Pipebursting Schools will be held on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 26-27, also at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel.

Topics at the schools will include:

* Design concepts;

* Water, sewer, gas and cable applications;

* Evaluation technologies, site surveys; * Application assessment;

* Bidding data;

* Contract documents and specifications;

* Inspection & testing;

* Construction QA/QC program;

* Project delivery system alternatives;

* Strategies for risk assessment & allocations;

* Recent regulations;

* New equipment and methods; and

* Case studies.

Registration is $795 per school. Register for two schools and pay only $995. Two people from the same organization registering at the same time will receive a 10 percent discount, and three or more people will receive a 15 percent discount. Attendees can earn an additional 5 percent discount if someone from their company has attended a previous workshop. Just mention the name to receive the discounted fee.

The registration fee includes:

* A wallet-size certification;

* A copy of all presentations;

* Continuing Education Units and Professional Development Hours for continuing education credit;

* No-risk registration--If you cannot attend the school, you may send a substitute. If you cancel your registration before the conference date, your registration fee will be fully refunded.
