Army National Guard Col. Gary A. Quick has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Quick currently is serving as the commander of the 31st Armor Brigade, Northport, Ala.

Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Robert Magnus has been named for promotion

Marine Corps Reserve Maj. Gen. Dennis M. McCarthy has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as commander of the Marine Forces Reserve in New Orleans. McCarthy currently is serving as director of Reserve Affairs in Quantico, Va.

Navy Rear Adm. John B. Totushek has been recommended for appointment to the grade of vice admiral. He serves as chief of Naval Reserve at the Pentagon.

Navy Rear Adm Keith W Lippert, has been nominated for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as director of the Defense Logistics Agency in Fort Belvoir, Va. Lippert currently is serving as commander of the Naval Supply Systems Command and chief of the supply corps in Mechanicsburg, Pa.

Industry

General Dynamics Land Systems has appointed Theodore K. "Ken" Sandberg to the position of program director for risk management for the brigade combat team. He previously has held progressively responsible engineering positions with the company, which is based in Falls Church, Va.

Former Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Mine and Undersea Warfare Dale E Gerry has joined the firm of Strategic Marketing Innovations, Inc., as a lobbyist. Before he became Navy assistant secretary, Gerry worked for 24 years on Capitol Hill as a staff member to both then-Senator William S. Cohen, R-Maine, and Senator Olympia Snowe, R-Maine.

William J. Wallach was appointed president and general manager of ILC Dover, me, based in Frederica, Del. Wallach has served as vice president of marketing and sales since joining the company in 1997.

ILS Dover, Inc. also has named Bradford S. Walters to the newly created position of vice president of operations. Walters joined ILC in 1984 as a project engineer.
