The American Correctional Association is currently seeking applicants for the position of assistant director for the Standards and Accreditation Department. This key individual will interact with correctional administrators

and other agency/facility leaders to administer and coordinate the process and promotion of ACA's accreditation program. The position requires excellent public speaking skills with the ability to communicate to a variety of audiences, as well as demonstrated leadership ability. A bachelor's degree and a correctional background with at least two years in corrections management are also required. Administrative management experience is helpful. The California Youth Authority (CYA) will be accepting applications in person for the entry-level peace officer classifications of youth correctional officer (YCO) and youth correctional counselor (YCC). A youth correctional counselor, under supervision in a CYA facility or camp, is responsible for counseling, treatment, supervision and custody of an assigned group of youthful offenders in their daily living and activity programs.
