A bachelor's degree and a correctional background with at least two years in corrections management are also required. Administrative management experience is helpful. The California Youth Authority (CYA) will be accepting applications in person for the entry-level peace officer classifications of youth correctional officer (YCO) and youth correctional counselor (YCC).
