The Mobile Air Conditioning Society Worldwide (MACS) recently announced that, in cooperation with Melior, Inc., it is now offering Automotive HVAC Systems Online -- a one-module course designed to provide students with "knowledge and understanding of how mobile A/C systems work, and [develop]
According to MACS, the course covers mobile A/C system components, refrigerants, principles of refrigeration and system operation, basic system controls, system diagnosis and service regulations using interactive, simulated equipment to practice diagnosis and services such as lead detection; refrigerant identification; and recovery, evacuation and recharging. MACS said featured equipment includes a sealant detector, a refrigerant identifier, an electronic leak detector with UV blue light and a recover/recycle unit.
"MACS is pleased to add online training to our curriculum of mobile A/C and engine cooling learning resources," said MACS president and COO Elvis Hoffpauir. "We want technicians to be able to access training in the form that is most convenient for them whether it be self-study through CD, textbook, or videotape, with a live instructor in a class or interactive online."
