Portable Earth Auger Digs Into Hole Spectrum of Jobs

Hand-held Model 240 lets 1 worker dig holes for landscaping or light construction projects. Digs down to 30 ins. deep (which can be increased with 15-in. extension). Boasts first use of 4-stroke gasoline engine in compact auger. Compared to traditional 2-stroke versions, the 1.6-hp. gas engine is more fuel efficient, plus complies with all applicable emission-control regulations. Also ends need for premixed fuel and oil solutions, thereby removing chance of engine damage caused by improper mixing techniques. Twist-grip throttle controls engine speed, while Comfort Zone handle reduces kickback and operator fatigue. Transmission produces maximum drilling torque of 55 ft.-lbs. Driveshaft connection (1 in. in dia.) accommodates use of earth augers ranging from 2 to 8 ins. in dia.
