It is an unusual journey that leads from the halls of the University of Lahore to managing your own pensions consultancy in South Wales and it is one that has taken Hamid Nawaz-Khan, managing director of Alltrust, over 30 years.

After studying maths at the university, Nawaz-Khan briefly taught there before an uncle, who worked in financial services, suggested he become an actuary. He moved to the UK in 1975 and initially worked for Phoenix Assurance while he studied for his actuarial exams.
