He has been with the Survey Division at National Survey & Engineering since November 2002.

Waukesha, Wis. — Voss Jorgensen Schueler Co., Inc. announced that Tom Thielke has joined the firm as controller.

Thielke has been in the accounting field for 30 years, including 14 years in construction accounting.

Madison, Wis. — Strand Associates, Inc. announced that Jeffrey L. Kronser , PE, has been named the firm's director of corporate operations.

As director of corporate operations, Kronser will help unify the firm's eight offices, promoting quality and efficiency throughout the corporation.

Also, Michael C. Felker , PE, SE, has been named director of operations for the firm's Madison office.

Felker joined Strand Associates, Inc. in 1978, and most recently served as structural discipline coordinator and a member of the firm's Executive Committee.

Milwaukee — Kahler Slater Architects announced that two new employees have joined the firm's Health Care Team.

Jude Wessels , a planner and designer, is working out of Kahler Slater's Milwaukee office. Wessels has more than 10 years of professional experience in the planning, design and documentation of health care projects, working most recently in Philadelphia.

Cathleen Feland , an architect and interior designer, is based in Kahler Slater's Madison, Wis., office. She has more than seven years of architectural and interior design experience, working most recently in North Dakota.

Kahler Slater is a multi-disciplinary design firm with offices in Milwaukee and Madison.

Brookfield, Wis. — Andrew Schultz , project engineer of R.A. Smith & Associates, Inc., has obtained his registration as a professional engineer in the state of Wisconsin.

Schultz has been a project engineer in the public works practice group of R.A. Smith since October 2001.

The firm also announced that Eric Fowler , GIS (geographic information systems) project manager of R.A. Smith & Associates, Inc., recently met the standards and requirements as established by the GIS Certification Institute to become a certified GIS professional (GISP).

Fowler is a specialist with more than 14 years of experience in GIS, and has extensive experience in technical management of GIS projects and database design. He is also the co-author of the book, "Digital City," released this month by ESRI Press.
