IRS Offers E-Filing Application Form Online for Tax Professionals.

Apr. 30--The Internal Revenue Service has started a new online form to help tax-preparation professionals apply to become authorized electronic tax filers.

A record number of Virginians have filed their tax returns electronically.

More than 1.5 million Virginia taxpayers e-filed their tax returns, a nearly 12 percent increase over last year's filing season, IRS spokeswoman Gloria Wajciechowski said.
