Also joining the WFS board are Donna Heivilin and Nat Irvin II. Heivilin is a former director for applied research and methods for the U.S. Government Accounting Office (GAO), where she has previously served as director for quality and risk management, director of defense management and NASA issues among other positions. She has spoken or presented at events held by numerous foundations and institutions, including the Brookings Institution, the Institute for International Research, and the World Future Society. She is the founder of the "Women in Developing Countries" project for The International Alliance for Women, where she served as president. She was also president of the Executive Women in Government Association.

Irvin is the founder, president, and CEO of Future Focus 2020, a center of the Babcock Graduate School of Management of Wake Forest University. He serves as assistant dean for MBA student development at Wake Forest as well as on the boards of numerous foundations. He is a regular commentator for NPR's Weekend Edition, has written for a wide array of publications, and writes a regular column for the Winston-Salem Journal.
In other news, Walter Kistler of the Foundation For the Future has retired from the Society's board, Kenneth W. Harris has been appointed secretary, and Kenneth Hunter has been appointed treasurer.
