Kodak Park air emissions decline.

Eastman Kodak Co., Rochester, N.Y., said air emissions from Kodak Park, its largest manufacturing site, fell 12 percent in 2001 to 3.8 million pounds, bringing the overall reduction since 1987 to 80 percent. Total reportable releases to the environment in 2001--air, water and land--dropped 3

percent to 4.9 million pounds. Kodak said emissions from Kodak Park have declined 14 straight years.

The chemical emitted by Kodak Park during 2001 in the largest amount--1.5 million pounds--was hydrochloric acid, a byproduct of burning coal and oil for power production.
