Imagers Look to Scanners to Help Meet Demands for Digital Services
Keeping up with current trends and business needs in the lab marketplace is an ever-present challenge. But many imaging businesses have managed to constantly differentiate their labs from the competition by keeping up with technology and offering truly professional products. This is still true today with equipment such as scanners. For as long as many photographers continue to rely on film for image capture, labs will turn to an array of high resolution scanners as the bridge allowing them to deliver digital services from photographic originals.
IMAGE PHOTOGRAPH 1Panoptain digitally restores prints and negatives with the help of a Creo EverSmart Supreme scanner.
Their need for scanning systems that deliver the highest resolution at the fastest speed, while automating as much of the process has possible, continually challenges vendors to upgrade and improve their scanners. They continue to meet this challenge with a variety of increasingly sophisticated products which make it easier for labs to meet their customer's demands. Some labs now employ a mix of drum, flatbed, film and large-format scanners to offer their customers a host of entirely new services.
