T-Com's "EthernetConnect" service enabled by Lucent Technologies.

T-Com, fixed line division of Deutsche Telekom AG (NYSE: DT), has announced its new "EthernetConnect" range of business to business ethernet over optical services. Equipment for the "EthernetConnect" product family is delivered

by networking company Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU).

According to the company, "EthernetConnect" service enables T-Com to offer Ethernet service at speeds of 10, 50 and 100 Mb/s, connecting Local Area Networks (LANs) at customer locations throughout Germany. The high speed optical multiplexers supplied by Lucent can be equipped with Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) interfaces.

No financial details have been disclosed.
