A FEAR OF HEIGHTS DIDN'T STOP LARA DAVIS CA FROM MAKING THE LEAP FROM INVESTMENT BANKING TO MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING WITH BRIDGECLIMB

FROM LONDON TO SYDNEY HARBOUR IS A long enough way. But for Lara Davis the leap from investment banking to working on the BridgeClimb tourism attraction in Sydney has been more than just a geographic shift.

"I was actually afraid of heights before I went up there!" says the Sydney-based CA of the 134-metre-above-sea-level summit of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. "It's a strange turn in my career, but it's been so good."

Davis, 31, is the management accountant at one of Australia's more famous tourism attractions: BridgeClimb. Nestled under the bridge itself on the southern side of the harbour, BridgeClimb has fast become one of those default adventures towards which foreign and interstate tourists gravitate. Every day the company's 300 employees manage a venture that guides visitors up the grey steel rails of the huge bridge to view Sydney from on high.
