Corus Aluminium update.

Date: Sunday, February 1 2004

Corus has confirmed that the Group's strategic focus was on its carbon steel assets and that opportunities to sell its aluminium activities were going forward.

The Dutch Supervisory Board says it will not oppose a suitable sale but expect to be fully consulted.

In the meantime,

the Group continues to maintain the competitiveness of the aluminium assets, as demonstrated by the recently announced 42M [euro] investment in the Koblenz rolling mill.
