Over the next six months, Nicom will begin to transition to the Carousel name. Nicom's customers will continue to work with the same sales and support people that they have in the past. McOmber will become general manager of the Nicom division.
"This acquisition represents a phenomenal opportunity for Nicom and Carousel," says Jeff Gardner, Carousel's CEO. "Nicom has a great reputation in the industry and a strong customer base. Steve McOmber and his team have built a great company and we are looking forward to working together and taking both businesses to the next level."
Carousel Industries designs, builds, and maintains communication networks for large and small customers nationwide. Carousel is a single-source provider of converged network products and on-going maintenance and repair services.
Nicom's main business in the beginning was refurbishing and restoring used telephone equipment for sale to companies needing a lot of phones for callcenter operations, for example. Lately, the company has diversified its business to offer more new telephone solutions, such as IP (Internet protocol) telephony equipment from Avaya, Inc., which allows customers more efficiently to link remote offices and call-center operations with one another.
Nicom Technologies has a 20,000-plus square-foot main office at 6477 Ridings Road as well as offices in Albany, N.Y.; Atlanta, Ga.; and Memphis, Tenn.
