Citigroup Employee Community Fund Awards $400,000 in Grants to 40 New York Tri-State...

NEW YORK -- The Citigroup Employee Community Fund has announced that it will award grants for 2004 totaling $400,000 to 40 nonprofit organizations with programs that support health and human services in the New York Tri-State area. The grants will be presented to the recipient organizations during

a breakfast held at the Citigroup building, One Court Square in Long Island City, on December 16th beginning at 8:30 AM. Media are invited to attend the breakfast and should RVSP in advance to Helen Steblecki, 718-248-4694.

"Our New York Tri-State Community Fund program aptly reflects our commitment to help make life better in the local communities where we do business," said Charles V. Raymond, President of the Citigroup Foundation. "We are pleased to have this added opportunity to support very specific needs in our communities and salute the fine work of the nonprofit organizations receiving these funds."

Established by Citibank employees in 1998, the Citigroup Employee Community Fund is a charitable giving program that is funded with contributions from employees and the Citigroup Foundation. Recipients of grants from the fund, which in 2004 continues to target organizations supporting health and human services programs, are selected by a review committee made up of Citigroup employees. To date, up to $2 million has been awarded through the Citigroup Employee Community Fund.
