Report Indicates U.S. Can Meet 25% of Fuel Needs Via Biofuels.
Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) recently released a report, titled "Bringing Biofuels to the Pump," which indicates that the U.S. could produce 25 percent of its transportation fuel needs via biofuels, as well as recommends that the country invest $1 billion over the next 10 years
BIO said the report also recommends that the federal government establish a mix of incentives, including loan guarantees, tax-exempt financing and performance incentives, to aid ethanol researchers and producers throughout the process of bringing cellulosic biofuels to market.
