EIA energy outlook 2007 projects increased bio-fuel use.

The Energy Information Administration's 2007 edition of Annual Energy Outlook projects more bio-fuels consumption.

According to AEO2007, ethanol use will increase from 4 billion gallons in 2005 to 14.6 billion gallons or about 8% of gasoline consumption by volume by 2030. Only 300 million

gallons of that total volume are projected to come from cellulosic biomass sources; the rest will come from corn.

Bio-diesel use will also grow rapidly to 400 million gallons in 2030, up from 25 million gallons in 2005.

Projected ethanol consumption in 2012 far exceeds the 7.5 billion gallon requirement of the Renewable Fuel Standard enacted as part of the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
