A 35-year-old man has been found guilty of acting in a reckless or negligent manner likely to endanger an aircraft, as well as two counts of threatening to damage property while on board.

Anthony Woodbine, who

denies the charges, allegedly became aggressive and 'leapt about like a monkey' after staff refused to serve him alcohol on board a Monarch Airlines flight from London to Montego Bay, Jamaica on 19 September 1999. The A330 aircraft was nearly diverted to Bermuda because of the incident, but instead Woodbine, who eventually calmed down, was arrested by police in Jamaica.

Woodbine now faces a ten-year jail sentence for threatening to damage property and two years for endangering an aircraft. He will be remanded in custody for three weeks for the preparation of a pre-sentence report, according PA News.
