Midwest Express order new aircraft and engines.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Midwest Express Holdings, a US airline, has chosen Rolls-Royce Plc to provide new engines for up to 90 recently-ordered Boeing 717 and Embraer aircraft.

The engine contract is valued at about USD640m.

> In related news, Midwest Express has signed a memorandum of understanding for up to 50 Boeing 717-200 aircraft - including a firm order for 20 and options for 30 more. The firm orders are valued at about USD750m based on list prices, according to The Associated Press.

The Boeing aircraft will be delivered from February 2003 through 2006, while the Embraer aircraft that the airline has on order will be delivered between 2002 and 2005.
