AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Irish airline Jetmagic has reportedly collapsed after experiencing financial difficulties.

The airline - launched in April 2003 - has allegedly lost more than GBP7.5m in the nine months since it was launched. Jetmagic

released a statement saying that the company had not proved a "viable operation" and the expected passenger demand did not materialise. The company's failure to capture a section of the business market was also cited.

The airline's collapse has left 400 passengers stranded in Europe. They are being forced to make alternative arrangements for their return travel.

More than 100 staff will also lose their jobs as a result of the collapse, reported Ananova.
