Lockheed Martin Aeronautics assembly workers ratify new contract.

The Machinists Union approved a new contract offer from Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co on 3 May for about 2,300 assembly workers who have been on strike at the plant in Fort Worth, Texas since 9 April.

Union

members voted for the contract proposal at a meeting held at the Cowtown Coliseum by a vote of 1,514 for and 246 against. The new contract now includes USD2,100 in upfront bonuses and a USD1,200 cost-of-living adjustment.

The first contract proposal was rejected on 9 April when union members voted 993 to 778 then voted 1,392 to 275 to strike, with pickets lines going up that night.
