German government refuses Lufthansa insurance guarantee.

German airline Lufthansa has been refused government assistance for insurance coverage.

The carrier had asked the German government to guarantee coverage for damages from potential terrorist attacks that exceed

USD2bn.

A spokesman for the German Finance Ministry said that the denial was in line with European Union restrictions on subsidies for national airlines, reported The Associated Press.
