The Air France-KLM Group has announced that two of its subsidiaries, France-based carrier Regional and KLM Cityhopper from Holland, have ordered 20 regional jets, with an option for an additional 18 aircraft, from aircraft

manufacturer Embraer.

According to The Associated Press, Air France-KLM said the orders are for Embraer's E170 and E190 short-to-medium haul aircraft. Six E170s and four E190s are to be purchased by Regional, and KLM Cityhopper is acquiring ten E190s.

This is reportedly the first joint order placed by the airline's regional units, and deliveries are scheduled to take place between 2008 and 2011.
