Indian airlines seek revenue from express cargo.

Indian airlines such as Air Deccan, SpiceJet and GoAir are looking at carrying express cargo as an alternate source of revenue.

According to Reuters, the low-cost carriers expect package and document shipments to

bring in at least 10% of revenue in the first full year of cargo operations.

Cargo operations were recently launched by GoAir, while SpiceJet is looking at starting in the second half of 2007. Air Deccan reportedly plans courier services from February 2007.
