Flights grounded in Japan due to strong winds.

More than 170 flights to and from Japan's Chubu Airport in Aichi, near Nagoya, were cancelled yesterday (7 January) due to strong winds.

The weather conditions grounded flights in and out of central Japan, according

to NHK television.

Reuters reported that the Japan Meteorological Agency issued warnings of high winds, rough seas and heavy snow that covered much of northern and eastern Japan.
