Pratt & Whitney engines to power Indian Airlines A330 aircraft.

Designer and manufacturer of aircraft engines Pratt & Whitney, a business unit of United Technologies Corp (NYSE:UTX), announced on Friday (9 February) that Indian Airlines will operate Pratt & Whitney-powered Airbus

A330s.

The Pratt & Whitney PW4000-100" engine was designed specifically for the Airbus A330 twinjet, and is claimed to be the most advanced and reliable propulsion system available for the A330.

Indian Airlines is scheduled to take delivery of the first of two A330-200 aircraft with PW4000-100" engines in October 2007.
