Snowstorm affects flights across northeastern US.

Flights were cancelled across the northeastern US yesterday (26 December) and Christmas Day due to up to 90 centimetres of deep snow.

There were long delays at Syracuse Hancock International Airport, and all airlines

operating from Albany International Airport cancelled almost all flights scheduled for Christmas evening and early Thursday. Flights were also delayed at Newark Liberty International Airport, while John F. Kennedy International and LaGuardia airports were forced to close on Wednesday evening.

Officials at Baltimore-Washington International Airport were also forced to temporarily close the airport's two major runways.
