Turkish Airlines is said to be in talks with aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing about an aircraft order.

The airline is holding talks with the two manufacturers over plans to purchase or rent a number of

new aircraft. The talks are expected to be completed by the end of the year. The carrier has obtained a package of incentives worth a total of TRL3,100tn from the government for use in investments and aircraft purchases or leases.

Meanwhile, the carrier has agreed to lease 12 or 13 used aircraft - six from collapsed Swissair - to replace 11 BAE Systems RJ-type regional aircraft which have been temporarily withdrawn from the fleet for maintenance, reported Reuters.
