An aircraft was forced to shut down an engine during a flight from Invercargill to Christchurch, New Zealand.

A fuel control unit had apparently malfunctioned on the Origin Pacific Jetstream aircraft, prompting

a precautionary engine shut-down, which was carried out as standard. The aircraft was forced to operate on one engine for about 30 minutes, but landed safely at Christchurch International Airport.

Emergency crews were available as a precautionary measure as the aircraft landed.
