Passengers booked on a British Airways flight from Zimbabwe were left stranded at the airport when the aircraft departed two hours earlier than originally scheduled.

The passengers reportedly arrived at Harare

International Airport on Tuesday (26 February), only to discover that their flight - bound for London, UK - had departed at 1915 local time instead of the scheduled time of 2115.

According to a spokesperson for British Airways, the airline attempted to contact passengers to inform them of the changes to the schedule, however the majority of passengers could not be reached.

The stranded passengers had to stay in Harare overnight. British Airways provided the passengers with accommodation and organised alternative flights.
