Business organisation calls for corporate access to discounted Internet airfares.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

The US National Business Travel Association (NBTA) has called for a review of discounted airfares offered over the Internet.

The organisation wants the US Department of Transportation to examine whether corporations

and travel agents should be given full access to these lower fares.

In a recent survey conducted by the NBTA, 99% of corporate travel managers stated that giving corporations equal access to web fares or distressed inventory contained on the airline web sites and Orbitz would best address the issue of discounted web fares.
