All of the major office supply vendors are extremely reliable, and you're not likely to have a problem with any of them about out-of-stock items or missed deliveries.

Still, it's generally quite easy to set up accounts with more than one vendor — all you need is a credit card and a few minutes to provide your shipping information to a vendor's Web site or customer service center.

You may also find that one vendor is adequate for your everyday needs, while a second vendor offers an especially good selection of office furniture, electronic equipment, or other special items. And while most of the major office supply vendors offer comparable prices on most office supplies, you can always find discounts on sale or promotional items by shopping around.

Using twice as many office supply vendors means keeping track of twice as many accounts, however. Think about your overworked office manager before you set up accounts with too many different suppliers!
