Cushman & Wakefield LePage and Arcturus Realty Corp announced a joint venture today to provide facilities management services to corporate clients. The firm will be called Cushman & Wakefield Facilities Management [Canada.]
Arcturus has 33 million square feet
under management, and over 350 employees. Cushman & Wakefield presently manages over 445 million square feet globally, with 12,000 employees supporting its international infrastructure.
Pierre Bergevin (pictured), senior managing director of client solutions for Cushman & Wakefield, will be president of the new venture.
The new entity will allow its clients access to the two major real estate property accounting software packages, Bergevin told
CPN today. Cushman & Wakefield uses Yardi, while Arcturus utilizes J.D. Edwards One World.
There is opportunity for a third facilities management company to make its mark in Canada, Bergevin said. Canada's two major facilities management firms are CB Richard Ellis Inc. and BLJC.
The new entity will have a presence in all of Canada's major cities, as well as third tier ones, Bergevin said.
Clients who have used Cushman & Wakefield in other business areas, such as project management and lease administration, have expressed interest in also using the firm for facilities management services, he said.
"I have been talking to our clients about this since last July," he said.
