CRESA Partners rounded out its service offerings by forming an alliance with Linc Facility Services L.L.C. While it did not invest in the facilities management company, the two companies will refer business to each other upon client request for their respective services.

"We

made a strategic decision we were never going to invest in the infrastructure needed to do facilities management," observed CRESA founding chairman Bill Goade. The larger service providers that include the people- and capital-intensive business among their services operate it as a loss leader to help obtain listings, he said. "(But) we do have clients with facilities management issues or that want (consultation). ... This gives us the ability to help them out."

Based in Houston, 25-year-old Linc currently manages more than 100 million square feet in over 150 properties for 50 customers nationwide. In addition to the access CRESA now has to its services, the corporate real estate service provider offers strategic planning, site selection and incentives, transaction services, dispositions, project management, relocation planning and management, portfolio and lease administration and capital markets expertise.

"It's a nice roundout for us," Goade said.
