NY oil dealers offer holiday gift to needy families: A warm winter.

Members of the New York Oil Heating Association, Inc. (NYOHA), a group of local heating oil dealers gathered at their annual holiday membership meeting recently to announce they have donated 10,000 gallons of home heating oil to the Salvation Army for needy families living in the five boroughs

this winter.

Members of the local home heating oil industry presented Salvation Army Captain Stephen Langford with a 2 x 3-foot check in the amount of 10,000 gallons of home heating oil at the meeting.

The home heating oil will be delivered, in a coordinated effort between the Salvation Army and NYOHA, to poor families throughout Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, The Bronx and Staten Island who face heating emergencies during the cold weather. Families unable to afford home heating oil this winter should contact the main Salvation Army office at (212) 337-7280.

"We shouldn't forget that winter can be a particularly difficult time for struggling families," said NYOHA Executive Vice President John Maniscaleo. "We hope this home heating oil cases the financial burden for those who need it and enables some families to make it through the cold season in warm home."

NYOHA is an association of approximately 150 member companies located primarily in New York City. NYOHA's goals are varied, but its prime objective is to educate consumers.
