Woodmont Properties, one of the most active development companies in New Jersey, announced it has obtained preliminary and final approval for the development of a hotel and office building at the former North Sussex Street landfill site in Dover, New Jersey.
The two new buildings will be part of a dramatic mixed-use redevelopment for the 49-acre site, which will also include a 150,000-s/f FedEx Ground distribution center. Woodmont's development team, led by vice president of development Steve Varneckas, executive vice president and general counsel Stephen A. Santola, Esq. and chief operating officer Lewis Zlotnick, spearheaded the approval process for Woodmont.
Woodmont is partnering with The Briad Group in planning an upscale, extended-stay Hilton Homewood Suites Hotel for the site. Consisting of 108 extended-stay suites, the hotel will also feature a pool and spa, exercise facilities, meeting room and guest lounge.
The team expects to start construction this winter, following state approvals.
In addition, plans call for a three-story, 58,700-s/ f office building. The office facility offers an ideal build-to-suit opportunity for prospective tenants in the marketplace.
This impressive mixed-use redevelopment project officially closes the dormant municipal landfill and restores the unutilized site to productive use.
