London And Paris Unite!

Monday, September 24 2007

Recently the Paris-to-London Eurostar set a new rail record of two hours, three minutes, and 39 seconds. This is half an hour less than the usual time. It was the inaugural run of the Eurostar to its new London home at St. Pancras International Station.

The new ‘Chunnel train’ which actually officially launches in November runs on a new high speed line and it seems, if you are traveling between these two major European cities, you can get there faster – at 186mph (though a test speed put the train to a grand maximum of 192 mph. Now that’s fast!
