I am a great believer in choosing corporate accommodation that embraces environmentally sound practices. Next time you travel to the Mediterranean you may find a few more hotels offering sustainable accommodation.

The Travel Foundation is giving 10,000 hotels in the Mediterranean, mainly Spain, Turkey and Greece, information on how to save energy, source supplies locally and manage waste wisely.   

Travel Foundation chief executive Sue Hurdle said: "The idea of 10,000 hotels saving up to 25% of their water and energy use is a big deal.  "We're keen to demonstrate that small changes by…businesses can make a really big difference to their bottom line - and locally to destinations.”
