BD CN The city of Dhaka in Bangladesh is expected to have its firstever Code-Division Multiple Access (CDMA)-based wireless land loop (WLL) phones by October, thanks to an arrangement between telecommunications operator WorldTel and China-based ZTE Corp.
ZTE Corp. will supply and install equipment for two WLL connections on a turnkey basis, according to coverage by United News of Bangladesh ( UNB) and the Web site News From Bangladesh. The project is expected to cost US$120 million.

Chowdhury, director and chief operating officer for WorldTel Bangladesh, told UNB. ZTE's CDMA equipment reportedly is being used in 40 countries, including India, Pakistan, Nepal, Indonesia and Algeria.
