The voice over internet protocol (VOIP) is a powerful cost cutting option for large and small business alike. For the new or ongoing business, the VOIP option is one that should be considered this month.

VOIP a Good Idea for Small Business?
Appreciate your comment Jason. The post you commented on was published on January 4, 2007 -- about 2 1/2 years ago. VOIP has come a long way since then. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

VOIP a Good Idea for Small Business?
I would agree with you if it were two years ago but today these are merely myths. The facts are that VoIP service is very reliable and most services have a fail safe for outages. Have the ability to use the find me follow me function ensures that you will never miss a call. Quality is without a doubt very good. It is what I like to call high definition voice service. It you are getting drop calls, echo?s, back chatter then you are simply using the wrong carrier. Today VoIP quality is way better than wireless calls and in my opinion better than traditional copper lines. As far as safety most all carriers have e911 built into their system which eliminates any 911 worries. I think is a reason why small businesses are adopting VoIP so rapidly and that reason is because they are tired of being nickled and dimed to death by the traditional telcos. They are tired of paying all the bogus charges the telco throws at them like the FCC Line charge that has nothing to do with the FCC, it's just a buzz word the telco uses to make it sound like a government charge. I don't know about you but I certainly don't like someone trying to pull a fast one on me. Apparently the traditional telcos think people likes these tactics.
